Starting fifth in the heat race, Belec was able to barely avoid a spinning car on the second lap and escape with just minor body damage. A caution never flew and he was able to pass a couple cars to finish third and secure a spot in the 50 lap feature event.

    The feature started and the determination from both of the Arvada X Motorsports cars was obvious. By the fifteenth lap, Eddie had caught race leader Dave Garmann and made the pass the very next lap. After stretching out to a five-car length lead and pacing the field for the next seventeen laps, a caution flew and bunched the field back up putting Belec's teammate Dominic Ursetta right on his back bumper. On lap thirty five Dom was able to make the pass and put the 3b back to second. Weekly hot-shoe John Hansen then pressured Belec for the second spot. A fierce battle went on for the remaining fifteen laps as Eddie was able to hang on to the position at the finish with Hansen right on his bumper. The runner up finish for the 3b team was the second straight top five at Fort Morgan and the third straight top ten finish. A one-two finish for the Arvada Excavating cars was just what the teams needed after a slightly rocky start to the day.
