BELLEC BIG AT I-76 SPEEDWAY Fort Morgan, Colorado
July 26, 2008 Article by: Joe Starr / Big West Racing
The night after a big rain deluge, the track was in excellent shape for superior
racing at I-76 Speedway and the drivers on hand gave the fans just that. The
crop of Modified drivers this year have been the best, and there hasn't been any
bad Main Event races. There is always someone new in the winner's circle, never
just one driver that wins them all. This week it was Lakewood driver, Eddie
Belec's turn, and he did a spectacular job. Belec started on pole, bent on
winning the trophy and unwavering led the entire race. Jeff Walters of Commerce
City, was outside pole and stayed close behind in second place, but knew he
didn't have enough to get past Belec. Belec happily received the win, accolades,
trophy and check, while Walters took second. Brett Smith of Fort Morgan, was
third.
